Annual Retreat: Beloved of the Father

RANCHI: 10 Sisters from Ranchi, Kurtumgarh, Ghutiapara and Jumaikela communities began their annual Spiritual Retreat at Mazzarello Convent, Ranchi from 29th December 2020 to 5th January 2021. Rev. Fr. ShilanandKerketta SDB, the Rector of Don Bosco,Yuva Kendra, Jharsuguda, Odisha was the preacher.
In the name of Mother Provincial Rev. Rose Ezarath, Sr. Lily D’Souza, the Superior of MazzarelloConvent welcomed the retreatants. At 5pm she read the message from the Provincial where she emphasized to experience God’s personal love, to listen to God, to look at oneself honestly and respond to God. She also recommended us to have a deep experience of God and renew their lives in the light of the Holy Spirit, so thatthe encounter with Jesus may transformour lives from a mediocrity to dynamism of holiness and revive the Spirit of Mornese and Valdoco.
At 6.00 pm we started our spiritual journey with the Holy Eucharistic Celebration. Fr. Shilanandenlightened our mind and heart to focus on the presence of Jesus. He recalled the saying of a veteran Salesian who said “we are religious either because wehave met Jesus or we wantto have deep longing to meet Jesus”.Therefore he invited the retreatants to expect something special to happen and to believe that God is going to touch the life someway during the days of retreat.
The following topics were dealt with during the retreat days:To have a deep desire to meet Jesus,I am God’s beloved, Remain in His love, Repentance,Discipleship of Christ, Religious Discipleship and Discover Precious pearls. At the end of the retreat the retreatants committed themselves to be faithful to their personal prayer and to love one another sincerely to be fruitful in our mission.The Mount Tabor experience was concluded with a pilgrimage to the Minor Basilica of the “Mother of God” at Raja Ulhatu.
