BARASAT: As the clock struck 8 in the morning of 21stDecember, Auxilium Convent School Barasat was all set to welcome the Christmas fervour of festivity and fiesta. The entire school campus was festooned with colourful streamers, lights and a brightly decorated Christmas crib. The preparation for Christmas in school began with the onset of December and a series of competitions were held in school as a part of the gala celebration. The classrooms, right from Pre-Primary to High School, were decorated in various innovative and creative styles by the students of the respective classes.
The celebration of 21st December was inaugurated by a Prayer Service, melodious carols and dance of the tiny tots as they enacted the birth of Jesus Christ, the Saviour through their performance. The tiny tots looked extremely gracious as they dressed up in the attire of Father Joseph, Mother Mary, Wise Kings and Santa Claus. The entire programme was conducted under the surveillance of Rev. Sr. Clara Saminathan, Principal of ACS Barasat with Sr. Superior Sr. Stella and other community Sisters as Chief Guests for the auspicious day.A special note of gratitude extends to our Vice Principal Sr Mary John and Ms. Jisha (YCS Club) along with Sir. Sudip and Ms. Moumita (Art Club) for decorating, conducting and organising the resplendent celebration. The esteemed judges for the day were Sr.Namita fma and Sr.Baiakmenlang AC.

The festive sprit was carried on by the students of Primary as well as High School as they reverberated the campus with the tunes of Christmas Carols which formed a part of House Competition. Each House had their unique style of presenting their carols as they used artificial snow flakes, poppers, colourful streamers, stars, pompoms etc. The High School students also participated in Christmas Play Competition where they exhibited their talents by enacting self-composed plays emphasizing the importance of caring, sharing and spreading goodness all around.
The spree of the celebration came to a close with the enriching words of Sr. Superior, Sr. Stella who spread her Christmas message of joy through a thought-provoking story which highlighted the ultimate meaning of exchanging gifts during Christmas by sharing their possessions with the unprivileged and needy of our society. Students were already soaked in the festal spirit of Christmas which aggravated as Rev. Principal Sr.Clara wished and blessed them with a joyous and prosperous Christmas and New Year ahead. Thus, the fun filled celebration became a cherishable day for everyone as the school winded off for a vacation.
