The Investiture Ceremony

On 26th April the students of Auxilium Convent school, Barasat gathered in the auditorium to celebrate three events – the feast of Mother General, World Gratitude Day as well as the Investiture Ceremony. The Investiture ceremony commenced at 10.30 a.m. The event began with a grand parade by the newly selected captains. Then the Sisters and teachers were called upon to bestow the badges to the School Captain and vice Captains, the Prefects, the club Presidents, the house Captains, the house Vice Captains, the Class Captains and the Class vice Captains. The Captains then took their oaths, swearing to live up to the responsibilities entrusted to them and act as fortifiers of our school motto- “Virtue and Knowledge”. Then Fr. Hermil D Souza, our Chief Guest for the event, had a welcome surprise in store for us, in the guise of a melodious bhajan to infuse enthusiasm in the Captains and remind them of their duties. This was followed by a motivational presentation on what it takes to be a leader. Father gave us a wonderful thought in his speech- all of our work should be done for the golry of God alone and the leaders should strive to bring out the best from the last, the least and the lost, to change them into fore runners of the society. Sr.Stella asked us to follow the footsteps of our beloved Mother General. The programme concluded with the entire assembly joining in the school anthem as one at 11.30 a.m.
