LEADERSHIP CAMP AT HC AUXILIUM

Holy Child Auxilium School – Vasant Vihar organized leadership camp for all the cabinet members, house leaders and prefects on 13th April 2013. The camp was conducted by Fr. Babu Varghese SDB, principal of Don Bosco, Alaknanda. The camp was unique in itself as it was a blend of knowledge and fun.

Fr. Babu began with the premise that it is important to have a vision in life which can give a sense of direction and meaning to life and generate enthusiasm. Then he took the young leaders to a magical and divine place by meditation, making all aware of their hand and its importance. He continued by saying that unless we have we cannot give and showed a video of the parable of the

sower and how seeds grow on different surfaces. This was interspersed with many exciting games and a short inspirational video which gave the message that we must move from what is to what can be. The video clips on "Youth of India", and "How beautiful we all are" were screened. Following it he shared with us the parable of "Boiled frog" and the "Good Samaritan".

Fr. Babu emphasized on the seven qualities a leader must have: vision, competence, integrity, commitment, charisma, knowledge and benevolence and ten ways to become a great leader. He said, "Coming together is only a beginning, keeping together is a progress and working together is success". The camp ended with a video of "Moving towards our challenges" and "Doing small things in great ways". Fr. Babu concluded the seminar by playing the "Yell game" and giving us the message that, "Life is going to shovel dirt on you. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake the dirt off and take a step up." The camp was a great experience for all the leaders of H.C.A. who will use the valuable knowledge that they gained to take the school ahead.
