Second Novitiate


Delhi: On Saturday 14th November 2015, Sr. Anima Xalxo and Sr. Jenita Mary participated in the VIIth Annual body meet of AMRAT (Asian Movement of women Religious Against, Human trafficking). It was held at St. Xavier’s School Raj Marg Old Delhi. Eighty five women religious of Thirty two Congregations were part of the event. Representatives from China and Sri Lanka were part of the annual meet. Sr. Gabriella, the director of Talitha Kum – Union of International Superior Generals (UISG) from Rome was present along with her team and Sr. Jyoti Pinto BS the Ex-Officio of AMRAT. The theme of the three days meet was “Child Right and Human Trafficking”.

In his Inaugural talk Rev. Fr. Soosai Sebastian the Vicar General of Delhi Archdiocese inspired the participants with his inspiring words of encouragement. He emphasized in his speech that Jesus came for the down trodden people. He gave dignity to the people, he stressed on “Believe in yourselves; you will be successful”.

Sr.Gabriella (UISG) exhorted the members to work together and to share our life with the people by Networking with different organizations. “We are here to give new life and meaning to the lives of others. We are all passionate women, working differently to save the lives of many. In the darkness of exploitation we are called to lighten a light”. She said.

The two resource persons namely Mr. Rishi Kant a social Activist working in crime branch in Delhi shared his experiences in rescuing many young girls from the clutches of Human and sex trafficking . He encouraged the participants to overcome fear saying “Be courageous and have good will to do something better. Make good relationship with good Police officer, good social workers, and create a network with good doctors who really can help us”.

Dr. J. Madhavi working in Women and Child Department dealt with various organizations and projects. She exhorted the participants to be organized in combating Human trafficking. “Human trafficking is one kind of issue. It doesn’t hurt bodily but the victims soul too”. Said Dr. J Madhavi.

Some of the participants enlightened the gathering with their experiences, in their own field of work. After the input sessions, regional wise the annual reports were presented. After an open discussion in the group the action plan for the year 2015 – 2016 was formulated…

  • Special emphasis was made on to celebrate the feast of St. Bhakita
  • To Introduce AMRAT in CRI meeting and to different congregation etc.
  • To keep the "Orange Day" in the school in every 25th of the month.

The three days annual meet concluded with a prayer service. Everyone profited much from this seminar and the participants felt enlightened to give themselves generously in saving and protecting many young girls and to give them new life.
