PRIMARY SCHOOL PARENTS ENGAGE WITH EDUCATIVE COMMUNITY

DUM DUM– Some 350 parents of children studying at Auxilium Dum Dum from Nursery to class V had a day-long meet, 27 April, with teachers and school authorities. The chief resource person for the day was Rector of Don Bosco Kalyani Fr. Saroj Muillick. During a two hour session on the Salesian Educational System Fr. Mullick insisted that, "Home is the place where one can grow, learn and feel good". Exhorting the parents he continued, "Education is something of the heart and parents are the first teacher for the child".

Don Bosco's Educational System popularly known as the Preventive System stands on the three pillars of Reason, Religion and loving kindness." These pillars help us to give the child an atmosphere of home, where she can learn to love, to trust and to build confidence," Fr. Mullick explained.

Earlier, the Principal of the school, Sr. Esther Rani Abraham cordially welcomed the parents and said "You are very precious to the school and you are part of the school family." After making them familiar with the rules of the school starting with the school diary, Sr. Esther made the parents aware of the rules of the school and went on to make them aware of their duties to lead the children on the right path.

A class teacher of Nursery Ms. Tantalita Young shared with the parents some practical points which they need to look into in order to facilitate the growth of the child. She said, "Develop self confidence in children by teaching them to do their own work by themselves like having tiffin, handle the water bottle."

"We promise that we will co-operate with school management always," said a parent thanking the management for the opportunity to familiarize with school and its educational system. Another parent added, "This session was an enriching and more practical that we can bring up our kids in a proper manner. Thank you for this session".
