"Formation as an itinerary of life is a continuous inner journey towards vocational integrating in view of a gradual configuration to Christ", says Sr. Maria Americo Rolim, General Councilor for Formation in the FMA - INDIA FORMATION PROGRAMME. It was for the first time that the Animators' having junior sisters gathered for a meeting at provincial Level in Dum Dum from August 9 -11, 2013. The theme chosen for the occasion was "Formation for evangelization" The inaugural prayer animated by Provincial, Sr. Maria Petttayil placed the participants in a very good disposition to enter into the day's programme.
It was based on the mystic experience of St. Paul which helped the formators to review their consecrated life with the right perspective of the Salesian educational charism and the importance of being truly The formation coordinator of the province, Sr. Lily Perumpettikunnel, dwelt on the topic "formation for mission." She stressed, "The Formation for mission for FMA is a preferential option for the poor. When we participate in the struggles of the poor we contribute to the building up of a just society. We need to be well prepared formators. Our role is to be a co-listener. One should spend time listening and updating oneself in the theoretical and practical dimension of imparting formation". She concluded saying, to have an inward and outward journey to have a deep awareness of one's own lights and shadows.
