Annual Celebration Dum Dum

AUXILIUM DUM DUM: Auxilium Convent School’s much awaited Annual Day was celebrated on three consecutive days – 28th, 29th, 30th of November . The vibrancy of this spectacular event could be felt outburst one month ago.

On the 28th of November we witnessed a grand show put up by the Primary school. The presence of Chief Guest Rev. Sr.Maria Petayil – Provincial of the Salesian Sisters of Kolkata added an additional glamour to the auspicious day. The little children were indeed very enthusiastic and staged regional dances namely the bangra, Santali and Bengali Folk dances. The events were accompanied by a biblical skit – “The Good Samaritan” which inspires us to love our neighbours as we love ourselves.

The 28th of November had come to an end but it had soon emerged into a new day 29th of November – the day for the Middle School students to rock the stage. As far as the middle school is concerned,

the events put up by them were really dazzling and spectacular. The dancing atmosphere continued by the fusion dance which was a blend of different forms of dance. A rejuvenating song based on freedom was presented by the students of middle school. They actually made a religious effort to put forth the evil practices and norms still carried out in this 21st century and the unbelievable deplorable condition of the victims. “The snow Princes” showcased monstrous sacrifices in the name of God which has ruined the life of many people especially women. This short skit brought out the theme of the day which was “empower women; encourage family Values”.

Finally came the 30th of November – the day for High School to stage their individual and authentic talents. We had the august presence of honourable chief guest Shri Sushil Kumar Gupta, I.A.S Chief Electoral Officer, Shri Sanjay Bansal (District Magistrate) and Amit Jyoti Bhattachrjee the assistant Electoral Officer. Their presences were indeed very enriching. The programme had started with a melodious welcome song, followed by a Biblical play. “Jesus-the Liberator”. It was a forty minutes drama, emphasizing on the miracles and diversity of Jesus Christ portraying the theme “Seek the Emancipator and Emancipation will follow”.

The students of class X, XI and XII had put up a wonderful English skit named “Dream for Democracy”. It showed us how important elections are for a democratic setup. This was followed by a fusion dance by class IX & X. It was perfect blend of Odissi, Bharatnatyam and Western styles of dance.

The most incredible part came when Chandraja Guha of Class X was felicitated for hundred percent attendance all through the 12 years of her school life. Her parents were also honoured for the incessant support and care.

Then came the most spectacular performances – “the Jhankar Beats” which had set the entire stage on fire. The Jhankar Beats, a combination of 3 regional folk dances of India – Jhumur, Ghoomer and Lavni. This brought out the culture of our diverse country - India.

All three days Our Principal Sr. Esther Rani presented the School Report consist of four years Academic and Co-curricular activities of our School and thanked the parents for their continual support in this educational mission.

The annual Day was a grand success. The parents were very appreciative of the function which gave them a visual treat. There were many challenges that came our way but the determination and tenacity of all our Sisters and Teachers and we ourselves were really remarkable.
